Bat Tower

In 1929 a "Bat Tower" was built in Florida Keys to control mosquitoes was filled with bats, which promptly flew away, never to return.It On May 13, 1982, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The tower was blown down during Hurricane Irma in 2017.
